Americans love their coffee

Good any time

It is not just how much we as Americans drink coffee, it is all the ways we use it as we have made it a part of our culture.

We put it in ice cream, we add it to chocolate and candy bars, we cook with it. We bake it into a cake and add it to icing.

Many fast food restaurants have excellent coffee and add flavors and iced coffee to the menu.

I am a retired trucker and I drink coffee like a trucker, “black and strong!”

In the ‘80’s getting a good cup of coffee at a truck stop was a crap shoot.
Then ”Pilot Truck Stops” came out with some pretty good coffee and many of the other truck stops followed suit.  I still believe Pilot leads the pack of  large chain truck stops with quality coffee.

We have a Keurig Platinum B 70 and a Mr. Coffee. I will have a Keurig in the morning and the evening. Since I drink a lot of coffee I will have a pot of Folger’s brewed in the Mr. Coffee during the day. A fresh pot of

Folger’s is comparable to a Keurig to me.

Here are Amazon’s best selling coffee makers.

A very short and sweet article. I usually buy my coffee or make instant coffee at home. Would you say that using a coffee machine instead of preparing it the way I usually do, would make the coffee taste better? I would love to find ways to save money and I will certainly take a look at the one you recommend,

      Hi Reyhana,
I have not used instant coffee in a long time and do not know how it has improved. I remember freeze dried coffee as being likable but I don’t think it compares with brewed coffee. Coffee makers that make a cup from a packet make very good coffee but are a little pricier than a drip coffee maker.
You will probably have better tasting coffee if you brew it yourself.

I use a Keurig with the packets but you can also put your own grounds in a packet that comes with the coffee maker. This could be more cost effective. There are many types of grounds and flavored coffees and lattes available. There are also smaller and less expensive Keurigs as well as other brands of packet coffee makers.

I also use a Mr, Coffee and Folger’s grounds. with a clean carafe and coffee maker and fresh grounds it will make a good cup of coffee. Thank you so much for your comment.

    Hi Marty,
Agree 100%, us Americans do love their coffee. I am a coffee drinker but more so during the fall/winter/spring as I don’t like drinking warm liquid during the summer – especially as I live in the South. My sister on the other hand will drink at least 1 cup of coffee 365 days/year.

I guess that I get my coffee drinking habits from my now deceased grandmother, (father’s side of the family). Other than my parents she has always been my favorite person in my life as being her first born grandchild she spoiled me to death.

I remember that she would always brew Maxwell House coffee the aroma absolutely scintillating as it wafted through her house in the morning.

She would always make a cup for me, as well as herself while she sat at the breakfast table eating her delicious cooking, and cup of coffee all while reading how her beloved NY Yankees had done the night/day before in the sports’ section of her local paper. Throughout the day she usually had 3 or 4 more cups.

I own, inheriting it from my mom who passed away in 2012, a Keurig one-cup coffee brewer. My favorite flavor of coffee the past several years, and something that I actually discovered at a “Bed and Beyond” store is Cinnamon-bun coffee made by the Cinnabon company. I remember the first cup of this flavor that I drank several yaers ago I thought I had died and gone to Heaven.

I like other flavors -Mocha chocolate and Hazelnut as examples. But Cinnamon-bun flavored coffee is unbeatable in my book!

Great article Marty. It would be interesting to see if your other readers list their favorite flavors of coffee!

      Hi Jeff,
thank you for your comment. I like coffee strong and black for the natural flavor. I do, however like to drink coffee with icecream. That is about the same as creme in your coffee. I drink it year around but usually not a full cup at a time. I think I am a coffee sipper as when I am home I usually have a cup within reach.

My wife likes flavored coffee. She likes the Keurig coconut mocha. Her two favorite creamers are coconut mocha and almond swirol. I too would invite people to tell us their favorite way to have coffee. It will be like sharing the blessing.

I personally like drinking cappuccino more than a regular cup of coffee. But when I do drink coffee, I like it with light cream and a couple Splendas.

Thank you for your comment. Everyone has their own taste. When I was young I taught myself to enjoy the taste of freshly brewed coffee. I have not changed over the years. I spent 35 years “trucking” and still enjoy my coffee black. I occasionally will try a flavored coffee and like to drink it with ice cream. That is like cream in your coffee LOL.

Marty, what a fun post about coffee. I didn’t start drinking it until later in life and now it’s a daily ritual. I take it as bold as it can possibly be made. If you’re going to drink coffee………then drink coffee! I haven’t tried the Kuerig yet, but it’s only a matter of time. I get so frustrated with bad coffee pot design and performance that this seems the way to go. Thanks again.

Hi Warren, I drove truck for over 30 years and often needed a strong cup of coffee to recharge and keep rolling. Keurig is a great way to have a consistently great cup of coffee the way you like it. You can find Keurigs at Amazon. Thanks for your comment.
